Using the Sorting Hat (or Veritaserum for that matter) would have only confirmed what Dumbledore already believed. Harry did not know who put his name in the cup; the Sorting Hat, Legilimency, and Veritaserum would not have been able to elicit the identity of the person who put Harry's name into the cup (Barty Crouch Jr./Moody).
A friend is throwing her daughter a Harry Potter themed party (here is our very own Hogwarts). We are just a week and a half away from the big day and we are sorting out the final details. We were unable to find sound clips from the movies or audio books of the sorting hat saying each of the houses. So BUMMED.

The hat looks way better in the picture. We had a sorting ceremony for my sons 11th birthday. The hat wont stand on its own. There is a single wire inside but it wasnt enough for it to sit properly. Only will sit upright when on someones head. There is not a face stitched on the hat. If you fold it just right you can fake a mouth like appearance.
